BARELY'S Necklace, Bracelet & Earrings

Rulla in Matte Gold
Tilas in Bonze Green
3.4m Drops in Bonze
2x3m Topaz Crystal Rondelles
11/0 Miyuki Dark Bronze #457D
15/0 Miyuki Dark Bronze #457D

The pattern is "Barely's" by Alexargai from http://fr.dawanda.com/shop/Alexargai
The pattern was easy to follow, BUT, I had a tough time getting the tensions right and had to redo it twice to get it to the point that it fell nicely with no bubbling.  I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but I found that the last row of superduo needs to have a bit less tension than he states in his instructions.  Anyways, I have to make a couple more sets for clients so I hope those will be less of a problem to do!! The bracelet came together quite easily, but again, the tension issue was a problem when I got to the last superduo row.  I had to redo the bracelet giving more ease on the last row.  I found I spent more time on getting this set done than I would have liked, but I love the finished pieces ... so ... I'll have to make sure to watch the tensions on the last rows and I should have less problems the next time around!

LOVELY LACE in Blue - Necklace & Bracelet

4m Swarovski Pearls "Powder Blue"
3m Swarovski Pearls "Powder Blue"
4x6m Ivory Pearls
11/0 Miyuki #4221 Silver
15/0 Miyuki #4221 Silver

6m Swarovski Pearls "Powder Blue"
3m Swarovski Pearls "Powder Blue"
4x6m Ivory Pearls
11/0 Miyuki #4221 Silver
15/0 Miyuki #4221 Silver

I used the pattern "LOVELY LACE" by Jaycee at www,jayceepatterns.com
I purchased both the necklace and bracelet patterns and gave them both a try!  I found the pattern very easy to complete with the few modifications that I made.  I decided not to do the SPIRAL ROPE for the necklace and decided to do just a quick beading using the same beads and added some 6m silver daisy spacers between the 6m pearls and added a toggle clasp to finish.  I also spaced out the fans a bit more as I found them too close together for my taste.  I added an 11/0, 3m pearl, 4x6m pearl, 3m pearl and 11/0 between each fan.  I really love the vintage look and have made this pattern already in Blue, Lavender and Rose!

The bracelet was generally made by the pattern but I changed the clasp to a toggle clasp to match the necklace and added the V shape at each end so I could do the toggle clasp finish.  I was never a fan of those 3 and 4 flat clasp closures.

You could also make the matching fan earrings,  but I'm a lazy beader and just made a beaded pair which still looks quite nice and quick to make!

JEWELED FAN & MARQUESA EARRINGS

 SuperDuo Pastel Bordeaux
6m Silver Grey Glass Pearl
4m Silver Grey Glass Pearls
4m Czech Fire-Polished Amethyst AB
11/0 Silver Lined Grey Seed Beads
5m x 7m Tear Drop Metallic Purple Iris

I made these earrings with the pattern from ELLAD2 which you can find HERE. I really like how this earring sample worked up. The pattern was clear and easy to follow and worked up fairly quickly.  I'm definitely going to make more of these in different colors for the holidays!

SuperDuo Pastel Bordeaux
14m Swarovski Crystal Rivoli
4m Silver Grey Glass Pearls
8/0 Silver Seed Beads
11/0 Silver Lined Grey

I also decided to purchase the pattern "Marquesa" from NannyPinksPassion and you can purchase it HERE.  Since I'm not an experienced beader yet, I had some trouble with this pattern setting the Rivoli.  I found that part of the pattern a bit confusing and not easy to follow.  I had to redo that part of the pattern a couple of times before I got the hang of it....but in the end I was pretty happy with the result.  I think the next time I make this pattern I will try to find some 3m DRUKS and use them instead of the 4m pearls.  I found some really great samples of this earring on Linda's Crafty Inspirations HERE.  She used 3m Druks and I really prefer the look of them over the 4m pearls.  I love her set with the INDIA Bracelet using the Rose Topaz SuperDuo and Shadow Rivoli ... very nice!  Go take a look ... they are really great and she has a great eye for color coordination.

Black Orchid Necklace & Bracelet Set

SuperDuo in Hematite
8/0 Miyuki Galvanized Silver
11/0 Miyuki Gunmetal
11/0 Miyuki Grey Silver Lined
15/0 Miyuki Gunmetal
4m Glass Pearls in Orchid
3m Swarovski Bicones in Amethyst AB

I came across this great necklace pattern called "AMANDA" by Olga Vinnere Pettersson and you can purchase it HERE.  The pattern was easy to follow and fairly quick to make which is great since I'm new to beading.  I didn't change it except to use 4m Bicones instead of 2x3m Rondelles which  didn't have on hand.

The bracelet pattern is from ELLAD2 called "ANNELIES" and you can purchase it HERE.  I used the same beads as in the necklace.

I also needed a pair of earrings to complete the set, so I found this great pattern while surfing Pinterest. It was a video but I wish I didn't take note of the name at the time.

The only thing I would change in the necklace pattern, is that in the last row of SuperDuo beads the upper holes are visible.  Maybe I'm picky ... but I think the next time I make this I will use SuperUno or something similar.

Magical Raku Blossom Necklace

Long Magatamas, Miyuki Black R MA #401FR
8/0 Miyuki Black OPR MA #401FR
11/0 Miyuki Gunmetal
15/0 Miyuki Gunmetal
6m Glass Pearls Orchid
4m Swarovski Bicones Amethyst AB

This is my tweaked version of the "Magical Magatamas" pattern from Smadar's Treasures which you can purchase it HERE.  Even being a newbie Beader, I found the instructions easy to follow.  The only tricky part was lining up the Magatamas in the proper direction so they created the pretty blossoms.  Being new to beading, I originally made this necklace with Nymo thread ... what a disaster that was!  I threaded 6 yards on the needle so you can just imagine the tangles and knots I had to deal with!  I was in a total frenzy and finally gave up ... until a few days later when I discovered the joys of using Fireline!  It was just amazing what a difference it made in the beading process ... no more tangled knots, even when I threaded on 6 yards!  Yes .. I know it's easier to deal with shorter lengths, but I live dangerously!

I changed the original pattern by only making 15 blossoms on the necklace instead of 31 blossoms. It was a budget consideration since I was making 10 of these for Bridesmaids.

I originally made up 2 color versions to match the Bridesmaid's gowns.  I really liked the look of the Glavanized Silver Long Magatamas with the Purple Glass Pearls, but the client thought the Black was more dramatic and unique.
